The iPhone X, released in November 2017, was a revolutionary device that marked the 10th anniversary of Apple’s flagship smartphone series. It introduced a bold new design, featuring an edge-to-edge Super Retina OLED display that spanned 5.8 inches and offered stunning colors, deep blacks, and HDR support. The absence of a Home button was a major change, replaced with gesture-based navigation, a move that paved the way for future iPhone designs.

Equipped with the A11 Bionic chip, the iPhone X delivered powerful performance, handling tasks with efficiency and speed while being optimized for augmented reality (AR) experiences. It was also one of the first iPhones to feature Face ID, using the TrueDepth camera system for facial recognition, which replaced the fingerprint-based Touch ID.

The dual-camera system on the rear included a 12 MP wide-angle and 12 MP telephoto lens, offering enhanced image quality, optical image stabilization, and the ability to capture stunning Portrait Mode photos with adjustable depth control. The iPhone X also introduced Animoji—animated emoji that used facial expressions captured by the front camera.

The device supported wireless charging, and with an IP67 water and dust resistance rating, it was more durable than ever. It shipped with iOS 11 but was upgradeable to newer iOS versions, benefiting from Apple’s continued software improvements.
